Start with the school
Ask about institutional grants, need-based aid, merit awards, emergency funding, and an aid review if your circumstances change. Compare net cost of attendance rather than tuition alone.
Consider a service commitment carefully
The NHSC Scholarship Program supports eligible health-profession students in exchange for qualifying service in shortage areas. Specialty, training, site, and service requirements can limit your choices. Read the current program guidance before deciding.
Make room for your future plans
Research military and state programs separately. Compare obligations, penalties, and career flexibility as carefully as the funding amount. An award is not unrestricted money.
